Walmart launched an investigation into Flipkart after whistleblowers alleged that certain employees accepted kickbacks exceeding 1.50 billion rupees, or $15.7 million, according to Indian outlet Moneycontrol.
The alleged kickbacks came from brands in the smartphones and luggage and travel accessories categories, particularly in Flipkart's B2B segment, Moneycontrol reported, citing four sources familiar with the matter.
This marks the third investigation Walmart has conducted at Flipkart in less than three years, Moneycontrol reported.
