Goldman Sachs promoted 109 executives to partner, the largest class since 2010. The announcement came Thursday and continues the bank's tradition of selecting partners every two years in early November. This year's class is 15% larger than the 2024 cohort of 95 partners.

CEO David Solomon's leadership elevated a record number of engineers to partner status. Goldman promoted 13 engineers across divisions, the highest count ever. Asset and Wealth Management accounted for 30% of the new partners, also a record showing for that division.

The new partner class reflects leadership's view of the firm's strategic direction. One executive said technological savvy and interest in AI played a role in promotions across roles.

Goldman will have more than 500 partners overall when the new positions take effect in January, representing around 1% of the firm. The bank did not disclose how many women or people of color were promoted this year, unlike 2024. As of January 1, the firm will have more than 100 female partners for the first time.

Among the cohort, 85% work in revenue-producing roles. The average tenure at the firm for new partners is 17 years. Twenty-eight percent started as interns, and 39% began as campus hires. The new partners span 21 offices across the globe, with approximately 43% based outside the Americas.
